Cow Appreciation Day

The tradition continues this year with Chick-fil-A's Cow Appreciation Day!

Belton and I went for an impromptu lunch this morning with some friends...so we had quick/incomplete costumes. But we walked in and the cow was walking around. Belton was SO excited. He kept saying hi and MOOOO to the cow!
Tonight, when Daddy went home we went to Chick-fil-A for dinner! (Apparently I forget to ask Belton to smile when complete strangers are taking our pictures...oops!)
Stop making me take pictures mom- I'm hungry!
At this Chick-fil-A the cow is a girl and Belton LOVED her, too!
Every time she left us, he wanted to follow her and stay with her.
We visited with her many times throughout our meal!

This year, Cow Appreciation Day is on 7/11...the day when you can get free Slurpees at 7-eleven!
Belton wouldn't even turn away from his Slurpee long enough to look at me for a picture, just a quick smile and he was back drinking!
Happy Cow Appreciation Day! I hope you guys all got free food, too!

Church

This is one of those daily life type moments that I decided I should document.
Here is Belton outside our church building last Sunday after church.
I am grateful for the gospel in my life and the light and truth that it brings to my life. I love my Savior and am grateful for all that He has done for me. For more info, ask me or go here.

Happy Fourth!

We had a great Fourth of July!

 Our little American boy!
 He sure LOVES watermelon!

Belton ended the day throwing up with a fever...so we didn't go sit around for hours and watch fireworks. Luckily we could see tons (like 8 different shows at once) from this hill really near our apartment. Belton was very excited about the fireworks, even though he was a pitiful sick little boy!

College Station

We went to College Station last week to hang out with Julia and her kiddos.
Belton and Claire had a great time playing together. They were so sweet!
And Belton LOVED Dayton! Every time Dayton would be crying, Belton would go to him and say, "baby...baby!"
And if Dayton was on the floor like this, Belton would often lay down and talk to him. He calls him "Daytee".
 Oh, these two! Such sweeties!
Of course, right after they posed for this picture for me, they hugged spontaneously...and I completely missed it!

We went swimming one day at the pool in Mel's neighborhood. I want a waterproof camera like hers! Fun!

Belton: Twenty-One Months

Here are some random pictures documenting Belton's 21st month of life.
Showing off his personality...
His fascination and interest in anything new and different... (as well as my appreciation for perfect strangers that are helpful and selfless!)
The way his little grin just melts my heart...
 His love of trucks...
His ability to cheese it up...
...as well as his love of wearing only a diaper!
His sleepyhead and milk loving tendencies...
The way Daddy makes everything better...
How he thinks he's SO BIG and can't wait to walk in Daddy's shoes...
And his excitement over new experiences...like his first Sonic slush!
 We love him!

Guys Night

Matt had a couple of friends over to play video games the other day. They were going out to a movie that evening, and he invited them to come play for about an hour before the movie. We got Belton ready for bed before they got there.
He had fun playing baseball with his make-shift tee, while waiting for the guys to arrive!

Zach, Travis, Belton and Matt
 They had fun!
Then, they went off to their movie, I put Belton down for the night and enjoyed a little evening of solitude.

Nasher Sculpture Center

Matt got some free tickets to the Nasher Sculpture Center from work, so we went to check it out!
It was nice to walk around the pretty sculpture garden. And Belton liked the water.
He was also pretty enthralled by that big red fork that you can see in the top of the photo above.
I'm glad we went because I've always been curious about it. But I'm also really glad that it was free...because we only spent about thirty minutes there! It was much smaller than I expected it to be!

A Random Summer Week

A couple of weeks ago, we had an impromptu girls night. What a great turn out! I'm blessed to call these sweet girls friends!
Brittany, Laura, Melissa, Brian, Danielle, Cherisse, Alissa, Danika, Cole, Sara, Ava

A few days later, Alissa and I took our boys to go see the planes land and take off at Founders Plaza.
 Belton LOVED watching the planes!
Belton and Cole also had fun playing. Sweet kiddos.
We will definitely be coming back here again when the weather cools off.
That afternoon, Matt got home from work earlier than normal and we went to check out the Aquatic Center near us.
 Belton had a BLAST!
...and he slept more than 14 hours that night! :-)
