Our Third Anniversary

Our third anniversary was a couple of weeks ago. This year, Matt and I spent a day and night out and baby-less to celebrate!! Matt took off half of a Friday, I dropped Belton off at Mom's in the morning and we went from there!
First we started with gifts! We like following the traditional and modern anniversary gifts. The traditional gift for the third anniversary is leather, so I got Matt some cowboy boots. He has always wanted some, so he is thrilled!! The modern gift for the third anniversary is crystal or glass, so Matt got me this beautiful Swarovski crystal necklace! I love it!

After gifts we took our one free entree coupon (that was emailed to me for our anniversary) and went to Abuelo's for lunch- yum!! Then we came home, packed up and headed to the beautiful Omni in downtown Dallas for the night! This was the view out of our room's window!!

We spent the afternoon exploring the hotel. We talked about walking around in downtown, but since it was SO HOT we decided not to!! This "Game Dallas" was massive and took up an entire wall. We enjoyed looking at it and trying to see how many places we had heard of!
Then we ventured to the pool deck and grill area. It was neat, but way too hot to spend any time up there. So we took our picture and quickly went back into the air conditioning!
Then we headed to Rockwall to take the Sail with Scott boat ride on Lake Ray Hubbard. It was a nice relaxing ride full of beautiful views!

We lucked into getting to see the sunset! It was a cloudy evening.

 Our boat, the Harbor Lights

After our sunset cruise, we went to The Melting Pot for appetizers and dessert. The cheese and chocolate fondues are our favorites!!

Then we headed back to our hotel, took in the awesome view from our room and ate like a bite of our "anniversary cake" that was made for us by the same baker that made our wedding cake. We were so full that night that most of the cake was eaten over the next week!

The next morning, we had a delicious breakfast brought to our room! I had pancakes (and ate like a fourth of them- who could eat all of that?!) and Matt got potatoes, sausage, eggs and toast!

We had a great day and are so grateful to Grandmom and Granddad for watching Belton so we could enjoy a mini-vacation!!
