We spent a little bit of time in Washington state at Dismal Nitch. This is a place where Lewis and Clark were forced to stop because of some dangerous weather. This is what Clark wrote about it, "About 3 o'clock the wind lulled and the river became calm, I had the canoes loaded in great haste and set out, from this dismal nitch where we have been confined for 6 days…"
It's beautiful now!
I love the name!
